Note that the labeling problem does not affect the products' functionality. The correct signal identifications, regardless of what the silkscreen labeling indicates, may be determined as follows. When looking into the front end of the eSATA connector, first determine whether the horizontal "bar" in the opening is closer to the bottom side of the connector (that portion which makes contact with the printed circuit board (PCB)), or whether it is closer to the top side of the connector. For test fixtures having eSATA connectors whose bar is closer to the bottom side of the connector, the actual signal identifications from left to right (while looking into the front end of the eSATA connector) are: HR+, HR-, HT-, HT+. For test fixtures having eSATA connectors whose bar is closer to the top side of the connector, the actual signal identifications from left to right (while looking into the front end of the eSATA connector) are: HT+, HT-, HR-, HR+.
